OUR HISTORY

Pisco 4 Fundos was born from the passion and fondness for Pisco, and of course from the love of our traditions and the desire to do our best. This adventure begins when Martín Santa María, a bohemian engineer with the soul of a farmer, arrived in San Antonio in the Mala Valley in December 2001, and fell in love with the place. He soon returned to his family to look for land and start farming. From the beginning he was clear that the cultivation would be the grape (he was always a lover of the vineyards) and of course as a good romantic creator he set out the firm intention of producing the best Pisco in the world.
4 Fundos represents a Limited Edition Premium Pisco, made for the most demanding lovers of our flag drink. Its production is exclusive and its main objective is to maintain the highest quality in terms of its inputs and delicate elaboration, that is why only grapes from Monte Grande and La Tira, neighboring vineyards of our property, are used. The idea is to serve a boutique segment that is looking for a Pisco made with love and with the best of the best. Pisco 4 Fundos has conquered through each of its harvests, a select group of loyal customers who are the producer’s greatest pride.

OUR WINERY AND WINEYARDS

We are located in the Mala Valley, San Antonio - Cañete, 80 kilometers south of Lima. In a coastal valley, very close to the sea, located at a height of 46 meters above sea level, with a mountainous formation that separates it from the sea breeze. We have a subtropical, temperate climate, in winter 16C, in summer it reaches about 30C. Environment conducive to fruit trees, grape, pear, apple, quince, avocado and lucuma.

YEAR OF EXPERIENCE

2001

Martín Santa María, founder and producer, acquires Fundo Monte Grande in the Mala Valley, San Antonio district and and begins agricultural and pisco activity, with the aim of making the Pisco of the highest possible quality for the most demanding lovers of our flag drink.

2003 -2004 – 2005

(2003) The first production of Pisco is obtained in a very small batch due to the youth of the vineyard.

(2004) The 4 Fundos brand is created.

(2005) The first commercial production of Pisco 4 Fundos Italia was launched, and that same year the Gold Medal and the Regional Silver Medal are obtained in the Pisco National Contest.

2006 – 2009

(2006) Martín Santa María acquires Fundo La Tira to expand the vineyard area and Monte Grande EIRL, the producer and marketer of Pisco 4 Fundos, is established to meet the growing demand.

(2009)  A new image was created for 4 Fundos.

2013

We began to participate in international competitions and we obtained the Great Gold Medal in the Brussels World Competition and the Silver Medal at the International Wine & Spirit UK Competition (IWSC).

2017

Martín Santa María is appointed President of the Peruvian Academy of Pisco.

The Regional and National Gold Medal is obtained in the National Pisco Contest, the Great CINVE and the Gold Medal in the CINVE of Spain, the Gold Medal in the New York International Spirits Competition (United States), and the Medal of Silver at the International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) in the United Kingdom..

2018

The Regional Silver Medal is obtained at the National Pisco Competition, the Silver Medal at the International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) in the United Kingdom, and the Silver Medal at the New York International Spirits Competition (United States).

2019

We obtained the Gold Medal at the International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) in the United Kingdom, the Gold Medal at the New York International Spirits Competition (United States), and the Silver Medal at the CINVE of Spain.

Monte Grande joins the Premium Pisco Peru Consortium as a founding member.

2020

Pisco 4 Fundos Quebranta is launched on the market.

The Gold Medal is obtained at the CINVE of Spain.

Presentation: 500 ml
Resting time: 14 months in stainless steel tanks before bottling and 30 days in bottles before commercialization.
Tasting notes:
Balanced and elegant in aromas, with lime, peach, jasmine and honey, it is velvety in the mouth, with a smooth and persistent passage, with good presence of fruit and typical reminiscences of the variety, as well as an interesting reminiscence of raisins and dried fruits. It undoubtedly denotes a lot of character and elegance.

PISCO 4 FUNDOS QUEBRANTA


Grape Type: Pisco Grapes of the Quebranta variety.
Alcohol Degree: 42% Vol.
Presentation: 500 ml
Resting time: 14 months in stainless steel tanks before bottling and 30 days in bottles before commercialization.
Tasting notes:
It has a unique profile, with a very well achieved balance between aromas, alcohol and body. A round, harmonious and complex distillate, with banana, green apple and almonds as the most notorious descriptors, it delivers a warm smoothness and silkiness in the mouth, with a pleasant and long finish. Truly a great exponent.
