The history of Bodega Villa Natalia dates back to the beginning of the 20th century, when Nicolasa López, a farmer and merchant, with a strong and dominant character, cultivated in Tate, Ica, mainly quebranta grapes, as well as mangos, pallares and beans that she marketed in Lima, capital of Peru. Nicolasa started the family pisco tradition by producing piscos and wines, later passing on this heritage to her daughter Natalia. Currently the winery maintains a production process that prioritizes artisanal and traditional methods, incorporating boutique methods that guarantee the production of outstanding quality products.
Bodega Villa Natalia is located in Tate, called the land of Princess Chumbillalla, through which the Inca Pachacutec made the irrigation canal known today as the Achirana.
The district of Tate is located in the department of Ica, which is historically, since the years of the Spanish colony, a privileged valley for the cultivation of the vine. The Spaniards promoted it for its resistance to drought, as well as for its good volume of production, becoming at that time a winemaking reference in South America.
The type of soil in Tate and surrounding areas is ideal for permanent crops. The altitude is approximately 406 m.a.s.l., the climate is subtropical desert, generally sunny, even in the winter months, and the temperature range is approximately 15 degrees Celsius.
1903
Nicolasa López Asencio, a successful Ica farmer and marketer of quebranta grapes, mangoes, pallares and other edibles, started in Tate, Ica, the artisanal production of pisco and wine, mostly for family consumption or for her workers and friends. That same year Natalia Breña was born, daughter of Nicolasa and a Spanish immigrant, who later ran the business with her mother for several years.
1940 – 1975 – 1982
(1940) José Guillermo Chomón Breña was born in Tate, son of Natalia and José Guillermo Chomón Ruiz, who worked with his mother and grandmother until approximately 1958.
(1975) The crops are in charge of third parties.
(1982) Natalia, who managed the crops and marketing, passed away.
2003
José Chomón Breña founded Bodega Villa Natalia, alongside his wife and children, with the vision of producing high quality pisco and wine in his homeland
2004
The brand of Pisco “De Carral“ was born, whose name recalls the trade of “carralero“ or cooper that one of Natalia’s Spanish uncles carried out. The first production of Pisco was made with Quebranta grapes from their own plantation.
2005 – 2006
(2005) Pisco “De Carral“ receives its first prize in the National Pisco Competition.
(2006) Year after year, the varieties of Pisco Negra Criolla, Acholado, Italia, Mosto Verde Quebranta and Mosto Verde Torontel were added to the range.
2009
José Chomón Breña is elected President of the Association of Pisco and Wine Producers of Ica – APROPICA, leading significant projects, including the development of the first collective brand of Pisco in Peru.

(2013) Pisco “De Carral“ wins the Silver Medal at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles.
