WINERY VILLA NATALIA

OUR HISTORY

The history of Bodega Villa Natalia dates back to the beginning of the 20th century, when Nicolasa López, a farmer and merchant, with a strong and dominant character, cultivated in Tate, Ica, mainly quebranta grapes, as well as mangos, pallares and beans that she marketed in Lima, capital of Peru. Nicolasa started the family pisco tradition by producing piscos and wines, later passing on this heritage to her daughter Natalia. Currently the winery maintains a production process that prioritizes artisanal and traditional methods, incorporating boutique methods that guarantee the production of outstanding quality products.

OUR WINERY AND VINEYARDS

Bodega Villa Natalia is located in Tate, called the land of Princess Chumbillalla, through which the Inca Pachacutec made the irrigation canal known today as the Achirana.
The district of Tate is located in the department of Ica, which is historically, since the years of the Spanish colony, a privileged valley for the cultivation of the vine. The Spaniards promoted it for its resistance to drought, as well as for its good volume of production, becoming at that time a winemaking reference in South America.
The type of soil in Tate and surrounding areas is ideal for permanent crops. The altitude is approximately 406 m.a.s.l., the climate is subtropical desert, generally sunny, even in the winter months, and the temperature range is approximately 15 degrees Celsius.
